Oldest Chapter

Level Identity

  • Location: Kailasanathar Temple, Kanchipuram, inspired by the Pallava-era stone temple built under Narasimhavarman II Rajasimha around the early 8th century CE.
  • Narrative role: the first sealed shrine in the chronological temple trail, introducing inscriptions, sand-worn corridors, yajna-smoke horror, and the mystery of the missing copper-leaf chronicle.
  • Tone: sacred suspense rather than exploitative horror; divine icons are revered, while danger comes from cursed residues, corrupted guardians, and folklore entities awakened by greed.
Deep Inside to Dawn

Core Objective Flow

  • Spawn: players awaken in a sub-shrine beneath the inner prakara after a failed archaeological scan triggers a stone-lotus lock.
  • Mid-goal: recover three Pallava seal fragments hidden in inscription walls, shadow chambers, and a treasure alcove guarded by a Yali relief.
  • Escape: assemble the copper-leaf chronicle at the eastern mandapa, open a concealed corridor below the Nandi axis, and reach the outer courtyard as sunrise reveals the gopuram silhouette.
Co-op Mystery

Primary Mechanics

  • Inscription decoding: players rub, illuminate, and reorder ancient Tamil-Brahmi and Grantha-inspired clue fragments using a shared codex UI.
  • Sacred geometry traversal: massive pillars, narrow circumambulatory paths, hidden cells, and drainage tunnels create claustrophobic route planning.
  • Dynamic dread system: whispered verses, oil-lamp flicker, beast claw marks, and temperature drops escalate when players split up too long.
Cross-platform

PC and Mobile Tuning

  • PC presentation targets cinematic lighting, volumetric dust, detailed granite carvings, and positional voice chat for spatial puzzle coordination.
  • Mobile presentation keeps the same level layout but uses scalable texture tiers, simplified particle density, and large interaction prompts for thumb reach.
  • Co-op scaling supports 2P, 3P, and 4P by changing pressure-plate count, enemy patrol density, revive windows, and simultaneous lever timing.

Level Progression Beats

1

Sealed Sub-shrine: tutorial for torch sharing, inscription rubbings, and first whisper event.

2

Lion-Pillar Hall: first co-op pressure puzzle while clawing sounds circle the pillars.

3

Circumambulatory Maze: looping stone corridor with branching alcoves and one false exit.

4

Moonlight Mandapa: shadow alignment puzzle reveals the treasury threshold.

5

Buried Treasury: players claim seal fragments while supernatural enemies flood in.

6
